The Village of
Mayville is the County Seat for the County of Chautauqua.
The fountain shown above is situated in the "Village Green" at the
corner of South Erie and East Chautauqua Streets.
This park is owned and maintained by Chautauqua County.

This photo of the Chautauqua County Court House was taken shortly after
the dome was restored.

Mayville Lakeside Park is owned and
operated by the Village of Mayville and is open to the public at no
charge. A huge asset to the community, the park features several
thousand feet of shoreline along Lake Chautauqua. It has a boat launch,
gazebo, swimming beach, playground, bathhouse, ball field, picnic
tables, charcoal
grills, enclosed pavilion, lighted basketball and tennis
courts and temporary boat dockage near the Depot museum. Mayville
Lakeside Park is often utilized by various community groups for
festivities and celebrations throughout the year.

Mayville's "uptown" business district at night.

Averaging 205 inches of snow each season makes Mayville an excellent
winter
sports community. Ice fishing, skiing and snowmobiling are popular
(although the Village of Mayville never recommends venturing onto any
frozen body of water).
SNOWFALL FOR 2006-07 WAS 240.5"
Snowfall as of 3/28/08 -- 206.5"
