Rescue 3 is a heavy rescue truck also used as a reserve for fires, fire investigations, and technical rescues. Marine 1, the boat, is held in reserve for water rescue. |
The Jamestown Fire Dept operates on a 4 Battalion system. The normal shift strength protecting the entire City of Jamestown consists of a Battalion Chief, 3 Lieutenants, and 7 firefighters. This does vary to some degree, mostly in the winter months. With the usual number of firefighters on duty a fire station is closed on a daily/nightly basis. There are 1 Lt. and 2 firefighters at each of the 2 open outside stations and a Lt and 3 firefighters at Station 1. |
